The Delta Express provides a tonal balance that can only really be achieved with alnico 4. The treble and bass are is big and rounded, the mids are scooped with the emphasis on the lower registers. These pickups don't compress or saturate as fast as other PAF types. They do remain musical over a wide gain range. The neck pickup is warm but clear while the bridge has hotter unbalanced coils to give you the extra drive needed and a touch more dirt.
